Next: Serenity RPG
To quote Spinal Tap, “I hope you like our new direction.”
We finished Shackled City. Yep. It is done. The stats are impressive:
Time on campaign: 2 years, 2 months.
Body count: Sadi (twice), Myntilly (once), Indira (once), Ilyea (once), Ragnara (once) for a total of 6 deaths. For a meat grinder like Shackled City I’d say that means our DM was incredibly generous with us.
Total Party Kill: ZERO! Haha!
Non-player Character voted most likely to die: Alek, who ran screaming at every foe he saw.
Player you want at your side in a fight: Acgar, who never died. She came close, very, very close a couple of times but never died.
Player you would not want to be stuck in an elevator with: Indira, because she would talk religion to you until you gave up and converted.
So, now. New chapter for the Divas. We’re going into space. Headin’ to the Black with the Serenity RPG. New rules, new setting, new characters and new minis. This will be (hopefully) a full Lego game with minis and props made from Legos.
We chose our first GM last night. Taj got (literally) the short straw so she’ll do the first one-shot and we’ll see how we like the game system and the setting. Who knows we could hate it and run back to 3.5 or even (gasp!) 4the edition D&D. We’ll see. But for now, we’ll see you folk on the deck of the D-IV-A48322, our space ship.
Um… I’d like to petition the Divas to become a full time member, or volunteer my services as a repeat guest role as a secondary character from a particular planet.
Excellent. I look forward to your further posts about the game. I had a great time running a campaign a few years back. It’s a great system.
Hey Corvus! How fun. You know you and your mustache are always welcome!
Hi Mark, I’m really excited, too. I’m rolling up a mechanic as wee speak. It’s weird to be learning a new game system, but it looks very straightforward.
Looking forward to the Serenity reports! Have fun and I will be interested to hear your opinion of the system. When out group tried a Fireflyish game, we used the FATE system and that worked very well.
